Analyzing the Prompt
- Read the whole prompt the entire way through first.
- Who is your audience?
- What kind of writing will you create?
- Usually, the essay prompt is not trying to trick you. However, the prompt is usually embedded in a lot of information, so it is helpful to carefully read the entire prompt before deciding what how to approach the writing.
- Always make sure you know what the prompt is asking you to write about before you go on.
